World 1: Starbase C3

Starbase C3 is an online virtual world created by its users, that's been around for over a decade. It has tens of thousands of fans, stories, characters, 3-D ships, and years of establishing a rich culture around it.

This virtual world isn't a piece of software like Second Life or There. It exists in the minds of its fans and in the collection of art, 3-D models, fanfic, ship documents, pictures, and stories. It survives not because it sticks to a single virtual world, but because it doesn't. I knew I was picking a neat project for this reason.

World 2: Second Life Invasion Fleet

At Second Life Community Convention 06 Starbase C3 announced the Second Life Invasion Fleet had arrived! We're starting with 3 flyable ships with lasers and a target game that you can purchase.

And so, Starbase C3 blends into a new virtual world. You can visit my output in Pi, or the central outpost in Hanbok.

But that's not most the exciting part.

World 3: Real World

At SLCC it was also announced that the Starbase C3 Invasion Fleet is also available in 3, 6, and 12 inch plastic models from www.Xardas.com. This makes them the first commercially available products available in Second Life and in a 3-D printed model of the Second Life model. Prices here.

And the real models are sold for L$, too, upon request.
